Eia kekahi moʻolelo e pili ana iā Kawahineliʻulā. Honoring the place Leihekili is rooted we've chosen to base this design on the moʻolelo of the goddess Lāʻieikawai, who comes from Lāʻie. So sacred was this princess that in her youth she was followed by a rainbow, the natural manifestation of her chieflyhood. As a woman she was escorted from place to place by an entourage of magical manu, who carried her on their wings. Our black, 100% ringspun cotton, tee symbolizes the black manu ʻōʻō. Locally printed with premium gold ink, we mimic the golden ruffles beneath the wings of this manu. The moʻolelo concludes with Lāʻieikawai being deified and given the name Kawahineliʻulā, the woman of twilight.
